Chapter two of Rachel's adventures 9/8/2019

This week was pretty great. I still feel pretty good about all my classes. I have been doing all my homework I was supposed to do; don't tell all my brothers as they might die from the shock. Math is going pretty well even though the homework kinda sucks. I think I am getting it, so it's a little suspicious. I like my Human Development class a lot. The content is super interesting and the teacher is a super cute energetic lady. I took my first exam on Saturday and got a 94% so take that college. My anatomy teacher even sent me an email telling me a good job of getting above a 90. So that was nice. It gonna be real awkward though when I start missing every other class. Jk mom.

I have also had some fun times with my roommates. We went to Dunkin and got donuts and also have gone shopping a few times. They are both really fun girls and I like to be around them. We also got a brand new roommate this week which was great but also shocked all three of us. I was going on one of my daily walks when I got a text from one of my roommates saying we got a new girl living in our house. I thought at first it was a practical joke but then I walked in the door and Anna and Kharra were standing in the kitchen looking like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off. 

Honestly, it's kinda ridiculous how horrified we all were by the idea of having to meet and talk to a new person. Who on earth let three introverted freaks live together in the same apartment is beyond me. Anyway, the new girl is also named Anna which is kinda interesting. She is a really sweet girl and she is also LDS so that's super nice. Me and her are going to go to the YSA ward together next week.

Me and my roommates also have several children. Not real human children mom so stop getting your hopes up for grand babies. They are just fish and some plants, but we love them dearly. Of course, they are nothing compared to Suki or Rocky, but they will do for now. Emily tell Suki I love and *sob* miss her. 

I also got to go get my nails done with Mom and Emily which was a huge highlight of my week. I really miss you guys. My nails are already falling off though so that was kinda a bummer. 

Sunday dinners are a huge success. I make dinner every Sunday for all my roommates and they all seem to be digging it. Even the new Anna was excited when I told her my plans. This week I made baked potatoes with chilly and a salad. It was honestly really good even though I had to call mom to make sure I was doing it right. Yes I really am killing this whole adulting thing.

Rachel's grand adventures 9/15/2019

First and foremost I must tell you all not to complain about anything ever. Why, you ask? Well if you do whatever you have been complaining about will likely get worse. As the example for this week of this most vital lesson, my plumbing. In the first email, I complained about how horrible my plumbing is. Now, these last two weeks we have had the coldest showers of my life. Honestly, these showers feel like you are being body-slammed by the abominable snowman into an icy lake while Jack frost has a laughing fit. For about two weeks me and my roommates endured this nightmare, assuming that perhaps we were showering at the wrong time. Finally, one brave hero named Anna called the maintenance guy and now our water is hot again. I have almost given myself third-degree burns in celebration. Classes are still going well. I have now taken 2 tests which was not that bad and I got above a 90 on both. Yay? My classes are not super interesting this year but thus far not super hard....

Testing, papers, and road trips Sun, Oct 20, 2019, 3:59 PM

  So this week was pretty great. To start off this week was fall break so I had a four day weekend. Luckily, my siblings had the exact same weekend so my parents had us go on a road trip to see several of Utah's national and state parks. Before I could go on the trip I had to finish a lot of school work. This week I took two tests and wrote a paper. The first test was math. I did a good job I think but I did lose a piece of my soul while completing it. Worth the trade? If I get straight A's this semester then I guess so. I also took an anatomy test which I got a 94 on and wrote a paper on GMOs.  Finally, after doing all those in the three days before the trip I packed my stuff and got in a car with my 30 siblings and we went on a road trip. It was so good. First, we went to Zions which was so beautiful and kinda freakish. It's one of those places you have to see to believe. We did not do as much hiking as I would have liked but we went got to drive around...

  Dear family and friends This week was much better and I feel overall happier and less anxious. Since we last visited I have had a few really good things happen. First, off classes are still going good and I am still getting As. Thus far my classes have been *looks around to make sure no one is listening* pretty easy. I also spotted my sweet kitten friend but alas, he ran away from me. someday... I also have started enjoying my art again and really seeing the beauty in the world around me. When I go through particularly difficult bouts with my mental illness I stop enjoying artistic endeavors and kinda stop noticing colors or beautiful flowers or anything really. For someone who usually is star-struck on a regular basis by the most basic beauties and colors of life, it's very upsetting to feel like life is gray. But this week I feel like I turned a corner.
