So... it's been a while. Quick catch up. I'm still doing pretty well in classes. Finals start tomorrow so I might die, but like whatever. My mental health is subpar but that's how it be sometimes. Last, last week.  Me and my roommates had a delicious roommate thanksgiving. We all made one piece of the meal and it was heckin good. The next day we watched Pirates of the Caribbean and made brownies. During the movie, Khara fell asleep and stayed asleep until Wills and Elizabeth kiss. She sat up and went "yasss" then immediately fell back asleep. Me and Anna both stared at her inert form then decided it was time to go to bed.  Emily also came over this week to watch frozen 2 with Anna and me. It was a pretty good movie and would watch it again. Emily also slept on the floor in my apartment and absolutely loved it. She didn't complain about it the whole next day and keep telling me how much her back hurt. No... she would never. Last week. We had Thanksgiving with

Dear family and friends This week was much better and I feel overall happier and less anxious. Since we last visited I have had a few really good things happen. First, off classes are still going good and I am still getting As. Thus far my classes have been *looks around to make sure no one is listening* pretty easy. I also spotted my sweet kitten friend but alas, he ran away from me. someday... I also have started enjoying my art again and really seeing the beauty in the world around me. When I go through particularly difficult bouts with my mental illness I stop enjoying artistic endeavors and kinda stop noticing colors or beautiful flowers or anything really. For someone who usually is star-struck on a regular basis by the most basic beauties and colors of life, it's very upsetting to feel like life is gray. But this week I feel like I turned a corner. I've started painting again with real feeling and excitement and just today was mesmerized by the sunset and all the color

I'm so sorry I have not written in so long. I have been struggling quite a bit lately but I am determined to get back on the horse. School is still going really well. I'm going to all my classes and working my tail off. I am so excited for the end of the semester and am ignoring the fact that finals are happening. Please pray for my sanity. Good things that happened this week? first off I got all my roommates to cry again. How? Well, I casually asked Anna Z. what she was thinking about her major. Was she still considering nursing? And she talked about how she said that she was not so sure because she is aware of how hard it must be to lose a patient. Me, being a CNA who always wants to talk about it, talked about my experience with that very thing and how you learn to take comfort in doing the service for your patients even if you cant save them. Anyway, I went into a long speech about patients and losing them and when I looked up both Anna Z. and Khara were crying. So I hugg

Testing, papers, and road trips Sun, Oct 20, 2019, 3:59 PM

So this week was pretty great. To start off this week was fall break so I had a four day weekend. Luckily, my siblings had the exact same weekend so my parents had us go on a road trip to see several of Utah's national and state parks. Before I could go on the trip I had to finish a lot of school work. This week I took two tests and wrote a paper. The first test was math. I did a good job I think but I did lose a piece of my soul while completing it. Worth the trade? If I get straight A's this semester then I guess so. I also took an anatomy test which I got a 94 on and wrote a paper on GMOs.  Finally, after doing all those in the three days before the trip I packed my stuff and got in a car with my 30 siblings and we went on a road trip. It was so good. First, we went to Zions which was so beautiful and kinda freakish. It's one of those places you have to see to believe. We did not do as much hiking as I would have liked but we went got to drive around and see the sheer

Another week another cat spotting

So this week has been fairly uneventful. I went to classes and did what I was supposed to. I saw the cat again and got closer, but he hissed and so I gave him his space. I thinking quite a bit about carrying cat treats. Will that officially condemn me to the life of a crazy cat woman?  I'm still struggling a bit with anxiety and homesickness (which is stupid as home is literally thirty minutes down the road). I'm doing my best to not let it get to me but I have had a few hard days. I'm also taking another math test this week so please pray for my grades ( like for real prayers are appreciated).  I also discovered the beautiful duck pond at weber state. It's so peaceful and beautiful. I really love just walking around and avoiding direct eye contact with the geese. I mean, have any of you looked a goose directly in the eyes? You will get the immediate feeling that you are about to get mugged by a bird. Other than the evil geese it really is a happy place.  I love you all

So to start off I'll tell ya'll a story from last week that I forgot to mention in the last email. So recently I have been working on my fitness and part of that is going to the gym every day and running on the treadmill. I have also been trying to do morning pray and scripture reading. So anyway one of the days I go to the gym after waking up. As I'm on the treadmill I realize that I forgot my morning prayer and while still on running the treadmill. I quickly close my eyes and start my prayer. Those endowed with more common sense than me will immediately see the problem with this choice but in typical Rachel fashion,  I didn't. So I run on the treadmill for a few seconds before my unsupervised feet find the part of the treadmill that doesn't move and I spin-off and land flat on my stomach. I lay there for a bit thinking what poor choices lead to this particular incident, then quickly get up and look around to make sure no one else was in the gym. Lucky for me the g
